Just beginning to learn overblows. Did my first 4ob.
Been practicing a lot on the 4. Now it seems that the 4 blow stalls/chokes a lot now on regular blows. My imagination?

(Recalling my "broken" 2 draw when I was first learning. lol.)

It is probably gapped too tight. As you get better at it, you'll be able to get away with looser gaps in general. If obing is hard on harps, I haven't had any issues and I abuse the 6ob like it is going out of style.

It will if you blow too hard!

Also, once you've learned to choke a reed, it is easy to do accidentally.
