Just heard some harmonica from these guys on the radio in uk and it was truly amazing use of OB's.
I think one of them was called Marc Schroeder
Anyone aware of this in the states please? They said it's the first time someone has won from outside the US

I heard about it and I posted about a week ago but I don't think anybody responded. Curious. Considering the harp player is an overblower ("modern blues harmonica") and all. They have youtube clips and they are from Germany I believe. They are both very accomplished. As for this being the first time someone has won from outside the US - not true. In fact, last year Matt Andersen won the solo/duo and he's from Canada - as am I.
Another non US overblower did not win - Carlos del Junco. Pity.

thanks robdee I did not know
actually I dident like his ob stuff, sounds weird and dosent enhance or it does not feel soulful, more manufactured and technical, just my opinion, but impressive nonetheless

I think an aussie won it before there were different catagories. Yes a guy playing guitar rack harp and singing won it. Against everyone!
