I made it to walmart today (ugh I hate that place) and bought one of those beer can coolers - the round ones made of some kind of rubber stuff. There was a hole in the bottom of it that I put the little tie clip mic in through then sealed the harp by just stretching the holder over it. It was too airtight and the mic was sputtering so I cut a small air hole in the cooler and that seemed to help. It definetly sounds different than the empty toilet paper roll I have been using the last few days. The beer cooler is a lot hollower sounding and I don't like it as much as the toilet roll sound on the fast ones but on the slow one it sounds ok. On the fast one it was like the harp was cutting out or something. I don't know squat about mics and harps but figure something is wrong. I always post my first attempts at things. I also always think going into these new endeavors the sound will be killer-which it usually isn't, but it leaves something to reflect back on as time goes on. I love discovery! Walter

great idea thanks eharp! I will give that a shot too. I am going to cut some lenght off the beer can cooler and see if that helps and also will try lining it with a paper towel. Walter

Waleter-I'm gonna save you a little breath that maybe you can use on more spontaneous and wonderful music...just call it a 'coozie' instead of a beer can cooler. ;-)

I have been continuing to mess with amplifying my harp on the harp rack. Still not there but such is the way with trying to develop such things. Walter
