Recorded this at work two weeks ago. I am proud of it, so I am sharing it. First time singing on Youtube so now the flood gates are open.

He wasn't present for the recording. I did it when no one was around. Next time I should do a live show.

Here's a list of what you need.
1) a guitar player
2) a beat up hat
3) cheap sunglasses
4) a busy street corner

That's all all you need. You got the voice, the licks, and the tone.

It's very nice to hear such feeling in a players over all presentation.
...the guitar, hat, glasses, and a street corner isn't very far from he truth.

Sweet Dan!
(Say...are you playing with the harp upside down or is the video mirror image?)

@stoneblues - I've spoken with Dan Gage recently and there is a good chance that he will be attending HCH this year.

@jim rumbaugh - The hat I would do to cover my expanding faceline. I also need to get a permit to busk in Boston.

@mojo - Thanks for digging my singing; I'm just getting into singing in public. I will not quit my day job!

@bluemoose - I'm a lefty who plays harp upside down.

Dan,

I've always loved your harmonica vids, and now you've added singing and I dig that too! Sounds good man!

Btw... is this a Blind Willie McTell tune?

@thechangingcolors - You're welcome for the tabs. When I finally went to tab that out I realized how difficult it was.

@Todd - Statesboro Blues is a Blind Willie McTell song... I was doing my Allman Bros. interpretation.

@KingBiscuit - Thank you kindly.

Very good video, super nice overbends...The only thing is that sometimes you're loosing the tempo...

Another thing is that sometimes you're attacking too strong on some notes...

Cristal,

Thank you for being critical and thank you for watching.I agree with you about the attack and the tempo.

There is a part at 2:14 where I accidentally hummed into the 1 blow and it sounds terrible. As for the tempo, I do have a problem keeping steady time, especially when singing and playing unaccompanied. I guess the next step is to buckle down and use a metronome (which I've been against).

If you can provide other specific points I would welcome them.

Merci,

Dan

Yeah... about that, Todd. Was going to buy plane tickets in January. Boston to Memphis was $265 round trip, non-stop with Delta.

I just got paid today and was planning on buying my ticket... $488 for the same ticket!!!! WTF!?!?!?!

Oh, that sucks...maybe you could price out flying in elsewhere if you are already considering renting a car, then?
