For Christmas, my daughter paid to have some of my songs recorded. It has been both a joy and very humbling at the same time.

In 3 days, I have done 8 songs and now have the "rough draft". I played guitar, bass, harp, and sang. I only profess to be a bass player, but I believe I performed "good enough" on all to put out a reasonable package. There are some parts that I love and some parts that I am not proud, I need people I do not know to give me feedback.

I will meet with the recording engineer again in about 3 weeks for more editing, I am looking for two things.

1) constructive suggestions.
2) Would you put something like this for sale online?

I have written and re-written some lyrics to St James Infirmary. This is my version. Key of A minor. G harp in 3rd position.

I'm inexperienced when it comes to recording & sales but I thought I'd tell you that I thought this was good enough to put out for sale. Well constructed organized track there. Look forward to hearing the rest :) .

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm happy with a "good enough", but I'm also looking for a reality check. Two thumbs up is good for the ego. Now I need a "Simon" to bring me into focus.

This project is more a "musical photo of dad" for the family. Yes I will be sharing the songs with all my friends and family, but I'm trying to decide wheter to "give it away" to everyone like Adam Gussow's lessons, or give to my friends and say, "by the way, anyone can download it online for 99 cents"

I thought your harpwork was extremely good. Very tasteful, very expressive, just the right amount in all the right places, with the right notes. You could do like Walter Tore and put it up so people can listen to the whole song anytime or buy it. Sorry I couldn't be more like Simon. How about this "you Ain't gonna win a Grammy".
