Hi UK harpers,
I've looked around on the internet and am struggling to find a Hohner MB Crossover in Low F. It's going to be my first Low harmonica but they don't seemed to be stocked by Eaglemusic or harmonicas-direct.
Anyone else have an idea of where I can get one, prefereably soonish

@MagicNick:
Yep, they're hard to find!
Two thoughts:
1. AFAIK (can someone confirm?), the MB Deluxe and MB Crossover reed plates are identical and interchangeable.
2. Antony Dannecker made a Low F Crossover for me. Cost me £50.

Tony Dannecker. He works on every harp and they totally outperform OTB harps.
You pay a bit more, but for a low F, I'd spend the extra and get the work done.

@Stevelegh, @MagicNick:
Not to mention the fact that, if the harmonica's not quite right, Tony - the craftsman (manufacturer, if you like) who assembled, set up and tuned the instrument - is there on the end of the phone with advice and will go to amazing lengths to help the customer have a harmonica (s)he really enjoys playing.
Superior harmonicas, great value for money, top bloke.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to contact this guy and buy one of his harmonicas. Maybe as I improve I'll go down this road more. I don't think I have the skills or cash to get a full set of customised yet :)
@captainbliss. Hopefully see you tonight at London Harmonicas if I can get there.

Last week, I took an undrilled bamboo comb from harpcombs.com and drilled it for a Low F MB Deluxe. I thought of just swapping plates on an F Crossover, but had the comb on hand.
Obviously, the Dannecker route seems to be the way to go, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.
