I'm having an open house at my hotel room from 4-6 PM Thursday February 3rd (tomorrow, as I write this) at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. If you're planning on attending the IBC's, or live within easy driving distance of Memphis (I'm 80 miles away; I'd call that easy driving distance), please stop by.
Brandon Bailey and Nic Clark will be there. Carlos Del Junco told me he'll try to stop by. Brandon's album was just favorably reviewed in Living Blues magazine. The editor, Brett Bonner, said that 2012 just might be "the year of the harmonica." He mentioned Cotton's album, Musselwhite's, then mentioned seven harp albums currently in release, including Brandon's and mine. He also mentioned three harp events: Hummel's Blowoff, HCH, and Sonny Boy Terry's Houston Harmonica Festival.
Come and celebrate all this. I'll bring my OMB rig and a couple of small amps. I've got free booze and snacks.
Vista Inn Memphis Downtown, 265 Union Avenue. If you won't be in Memphis but you've got friends coming down, please spread the word. Guitar players welcome.

Not a big to-do. Very tame, actually. Brandon Bailey, Nic Clark, and Harmonica Carson (a young'un) were there, along with Brandon's mom, Carson's mom, dad, and sister, and four or five others. We jammed a bit in the small room, and nobody called the cops on us. I was prepared for the British Navy and have lots of booze, beer, and chips left.
