The Question:
When playing 3rd position, holes 4 through 10, can you achieve better control with holding the harp in your right hand, thereby giving a better cup over the holes 4 through 10?

There is a current thread about left handed harp players that reminded me of my "concept of the week" :)

I am a right handed harp player that has held the harp in my right hand since I began in 2001. I am "working on" using my left, but I switch to my right when I want to be more comfortable. I am also VERY happy with 3rd position played holes 4 through 10. I LOVE the high end of the harp. This weekend, while trying my left hand technique, I said to myself, "why bother in 3rd position when I can 'cup and wah' real good with my right hand over holes 4 through 10"

Any comments or opinions??

Carey Bell held the harp in his right hand. He was a fabulous third position player. I don't know if he liked pasta.
