Can't seem to find any recordings of you playing on YouTube etc. Can you point me somewhere? Enjoy reading your advice / comments / thoughts, have time and respect for your take on music and playing harp, would like to put a sound to text and suspect I'd enjoy the listening, too! Cheers!

Well, I'm flattered by your kind words and your interest. But actually, I don't know how to make recordings on a computer and i haven't posted anything.
A friend of mine recorded a performance of one of his original tunes called "Maybe Reggae" when i sat in with one of his bands last summer. It is in G natural minor so i played an Eb harp in 5th position. I'd never played the tune before, so at a couple of points i hit some double stops that were ill-advised and didn't fit the chords particularly well, and because of my unfamiliarity with the tune (and the fact that a trombone player and guitar player were also sitting in), I was playing pretty conservatively.
If you want to listen, go here: http://www.vytas.devicegroup.com/audio.php
You have to hit the drop down down menu and go to 2010 Vytas and his Eclectic Outfit Manhattans 0709 and click on the second track, "Maybe Reggae." I think this is the only tune I'm on. I played on others that night, but i don't think they were recorded. Now that I know the tune I play it a little differently these days.
There used to be a vid of me playing on "Jean Pierre" using pedal board electronics that used to be on the Facebook page of another bandleader whose band I played with at an outdoor concert, but i just checked and it's not there anymore. Not sure where it went.
My band keeps talking about making some promo recordings to post. If we ever actually get around to finding time to do it, I'll let you know.

@ncpacemaker: Look, I don't claim to be a terrific harp player or anything. I think i can get around on the instrument more or less competently in different positions and styles--some better than others.
I post a lot because i learned what things I do know long before we had the internet resources available that we have now and it was very difficult to figure some of this stuff out without guidance. So, if I am able to help others work through stuff that I could have learned faster and better if i had anyone to tell me about this stuff, I'm happy to share. Also, I find that posting helps me organize the information I have accumulated in my head over the years. I'm flattered that other people find some of what i have to say helpful.

The name seems to excite you? *Steeples hands, taps lips with index fingers.* Interesting.

"At least?" Talking well is something to be celebrated, no?
@hvyj:
Enjoyed the tune! Lovely energy.

I have to admit, with all the information/knowledge that he's imparted, I was curious to hear hvyj's playing too.
Alas, i'm too lazy to go to an unknown site and navigate drop down menus...but the day a youtube link shows up here with hvyj's playing on it .....I'm in.
Edited to include: ask and ye shall receive..as i typed the above, ncpacemaker did just that posting a separate thread linking to hvyj's playing............thanks nc.

John Potts- Are you involved in a certain internet harp store? You've never mentioned that and, of course, that could just be a coincidence that you have the same name.

No. I'm not involved with any internet harp store. Actually, I don't even know what site you are referring to.

Well, I persevered and found it. I've only had the opportunity to sit in with real musicians a couple of times and it's hard to play along with non-blues songs that you've never heard before. This is what I want to be able to do, and I thank hvyj for pointing the way on this. I'd also love to hear some more. I hope hvyj can find a way to make that happen. ----------
