Here's something that I come up sometime ago , and I just rerecorded and change it a little bit. I am ,what I call , a "living room player" only playing by and for myself , and when you do that sometimes the reality can get distorted .So any advice , critics are very welcome , I have a thick skin so let it all out . If anybody is interested I posted a text tab also, to download it you will have to go to the youtube page .
Very very nice. I have no critique other than to say you need to stop being a living room player, share some of that talent with the world, even if it's just a little busking or an open mike somewhere. I caught your AWESOME cover of Clapton's version of Before You Accuse Me on your YT channel where you play two instruments and use a little video magic, outstanding!! I've embedded it below (I hope you don't mind). You are a very talented guy.
you know i love all your playing, sorin. but listening to you play with buddy on an "acoustic' song, it may sound better if you went without your effects. at the moment, i cant recall any of your youtubes that are straight up. guess i got to spend sometime revisiting your vids. (just my burden to bear. lol)
I have to agree with Honkin on Bobo statement "I have no critique other than to say you need to stop being a living room player, share some of that talent with the world, even if it's just a little busking or an open mike somewhere."
If I had to give you any criticism. I'd say listen to the whole album of "Alone and Acoustic" and hear how minimal Junior Wells backing harp is to Buddy Guys guitar. You may be guilty of over playing a little and in my opinion it might be more effective if you left a little more space.
I still think overall though that you should be proud of what you played here. It's also nice to hear someone play acoustic and not hide behind a distorted amp and effects.
I think you sound pretty damn good! Your a little heavy in the mix and a little heavy w/ the effects. But if Buddy aint complainin I guess neither should I:) Nice work. Thank you.
@ Sorin, good playing. The thing I noticed is you don't use any hand articulation. You could be so much more expressive using hand wahs and more. :) Mike
In the 2nd vid playin the clapton tune you did one or two hand wah's. Agree with Shredder that more hand articulation would really add to it. Most of the time, your hands are totally closed over the harp. Learning some tongue slaps would be a nice addition as well. Very nice playing!
Thank you everybody for your comments and suggestions.
The only effect that I've used was reverb ,trying to match the reverb that they use in the original recording...but I guess was a bit(way) too much.
The lack of hand articulation is the result of having problems recording it , I play Sp20 with closed covers and if I open my hands the difference in sound level is too much and the mic distorts. I was thinking about a solution : I gotta start using a compressor , backing up the mic , or use my set of open back vented sides covers on the recording harp , this might soft down the hand effects .
@ Kingley , I agree with you it was over played, I had the same feeling listening to the recording .
Me , playing out somewhere I don't think it's gonna happen , between work ,family, and some other interests I have zero time left for this kind of stuff, plus I am not very familiar with the system of jams , and open mics.
@Joch230 , I can tongue slap , just couldn't find any place for it in this song.

I don't really think so. I'd say the mix needs the background turned up a little and maybe the harp down a touch. More like the sound in the vid Bobo posted. The playing was great it's just too loud in the mix IMO. I agree with the others, if I could play that good I'd be out in public looking for a chance to jump on stage and ROCK THE HOUSE. Maybe that's not for everybody, but I can't wait! ---------- It's MUSIC, not just complicated noise.
