Lee Pons. Not a name I was familiar with. But he's playing a club in Helena, Arkansas that Shine Turner are playing in April, and his ReverbNation page has some incredible playing.

He's got one video on his YouTube channel. This is a guy worth knowing about. Real blues, for all you young'uns who wonder what that sounds like:

Good stuff. Saying this guy's singing is gritty doesn't do it justice. What is better than gritty ?

The singing reminds me of Tom Waits...

Which is, of course, on the continuum well after gritty....

I dig this guy's piano playing. I'm interested in how flexible his playing is but he's only got one upload. Either way cool stuff!

Here's his web site.

He's got the Ray Charles thing going on for sure. Great overall blues and fantastic boogie piano.
Check out his music at the web site.
He's the real deal. Been doing this a long time.

Adam: That is cool you found Lee!

I have know of him for awhile via the blindmans blues forum. He is a frequent poster there. He was giving away a complete cd on download there a while back. Tell him I say hi if you contact him. Walter
