But, here is the point. I have my blues trio "The Busy Bedbugs". I play the blues harmonica, Henk plays the guitar and sings and Lothar plays the acoustic guitar, too.

We come to the USA and we start our journey in New Orleans. We stay 2 days and the we drive along the Mississippi Blues Trail. We come to Clarksdale, Oxford, Jackson and whatever is on our way.

We would like to see many places to hear blues music, we would like to play our blues stuff on jam sessions.

Here is my question: please let me know if you know something for us what is great to see. Blues bars, jam sessions, locations.....
To make this clear: we don´t wanna play for money, just for fun. This is our vacation trip.

I`m also intrested in meeting other harmonica players to talk about blues or to met players and their amps. Whatever. We wanna met other blues fans. Do you libe somewhere in the missisippi area and like to show us your town or your blues life, please feel free to contact me.

Our trip start at the 23nd of April and we fly back at the 9th of May. We will be in Memphis at the Blues Music Awards 2011.

Any help would help us to plan our trip.

Thanks for your time and sorry for my poor english, my german is much better. :-)

Greetings from Münster

Mario Hemken

That sounds great, just rent a car and go!
I wish I lived there, iwould have you at my house.
Nelson St., Greeneville was a place I recall with great bars and Doe's eat place. Doe's is worth a stop for a steak the size of saddle. Very cool.
I am sure others can be very helpful.
enjoy, you'll have a ball

Mario: Of course you need to let me know exactly when you'll be in Mississippi so that I can take you and your friends out and buy you many beers.

Rooster's Blues House here in Oxford has an open mic every Tuesday. Ground Zero in Clarksdale, 60 miles from here, has a jam session every Thursday. There's a very complete list of Mississippi jam sessions and gigs HERE:

I"m looking forward to seeing you guys here in Mississippi!

Paul: Yeah, The Ground Zero Blues Club is on our list. We also will see some Blues museums.

We just drive and stay whereever we want. Only in New Orleans and Mepmhis the hotels are reserved.

HarveyHarp: I will send you an email the next days to hear more of the New Orleans harmonica players.

6SN7: Where is Nelson Street ? And Greeneville is a town ?

Adam: Many thanks for your invitation - that would be great to see a little bit about the blues area with your eyes. I will let you know when we start. There is so many to see on the road between Memphis and New Orleans. And thanks for the list!!

Greeneville MS is right on the Mississippi River, about 2 hours south of Memphis.
Nelson Street is in town, ask anyone.

Hi folks,

now the start of our trip is close.
Next Saturday we come to New Orleans, stay there for 2 days and than drive with the car along the Mississippi up to New Orleans.
We wanna see many places and meet many musicians and harp players on our way.

Now I start to get in contact with some locals who like to meet some german blues fans to show us their hometown.

Please, if you like to show us your favorit place to stay or to jam or to meet other musicians, just contact me. Many thanks

Hi Scott,
I wanna tell you something: That would be really, really cool for us to play our style of blues in the country of the blues. We would love to play there.

What do you think - who is the one who can say that we can play there a few songs ?

Please let me know.
Thanks

Mario
