I have one. It overblows easier than any of my harps including my customs. I like the black covers. The tone is just OK to me. I like the tone of the Manji much better.

It's an excellent OOTB instrument, with a top level playability. One of my favorite actually.

But (Warning) it may not be to the taste of hardcore old school blues players : beside of being ET, it has a great rich smooth tone, and not that brassy MB tone.

Depending of what you want to play, it may be a great choice.

And, con : it's IMO a little bit too expensive, pro : it's very pretty.

What separates it from a Hammond? they look exactly the same to me... and my promasters overblow beautifully with just a little bit of gapping. Maybe some embossing where necessary.

I'm just wondering what the advantage would be for someone that's not afraid to open it up and make it overblow without squeals.

I don't know if you tried searching the archives but there was a great discussion a while back about the Firebreath. It said basically that it had different reeds that were made to be easy to OB. Mine didn't need any gapping or embossing. The comb is rosewood. The discussion was much more comprehensive and it included Brendon Power from Suzuki.

Hammonds have different reed plates with different reed profiles, so they have a different tone and are louder than Firebreaths. i prefer Hammonds over Firebreaths.

Firebreaths are supposed to be better for OBs.
