Well these are my first attempts at making a music Youtube vid. One is using a cheap RadioShack mic, a Peavey solid state amp and some Boss ME-20 effects to try and get a decent harp tone. It's a tune I tried to copy from Richard Sleigh. The second vid is just using the camera's mic and I'm just playing whatever pops into my head. There are several mistakes I left rather than re-recording. I wanted to give a general idea on where I'm at as most of you have posted something in the past. I also wanted see how the camera, amp, mic, etc sounded on Youtube! Thanks for watching.
Good work! Nothing wrong with playing what pops in your head. Some call it noodling, but it is great for practice...Got me wanting to try BWBugle Boy. Never thought of adapting to harmonica. Your playing is full and loud. Relax and play a bit softer and you won't be as winded at the end.
I've said here before....playing in front of 200 people does not phase me in the least...but for some reason R2-D2's eye staring at me puts pressure on and makes me think too much.
@OzarkRich I think that not adding space is something that happens when one doesn't play with a band or even a backing track very often....like me. When you see someone like RJ Mischo working with his band and how he uses space...man, he's a master. Thanks for the feedback...I got to practice with some backing tracks more often. -John
