I secured a couple 12 hole Chordomonicas a while back. They have their original wood combs. Both have a taste of soap on the draw notes. I've tried to remove the problem taste by putting the harps in airtight containers. I put a bunch of baking soda in, a paper napkin over that, then lay the harp on that napkin. They're sealed airtight for a couple weeks, or more. I have done the same using Dried coffee grounds instead, another suggested way to remove a taste, though not specifically a soap taste. Neither method is working.

Perhaps some of you know of this problem, maybe you know the name of what makes the soap taste. Can any of you suggest a better taste remover from a wood comb? I realize one way to fix this is to replace the comb. I could do that, but I hope I may be able to remove the soap taste, somehow. Anyone?
