Since I speak here a lot on tone and stuff, some have asked me to post a few tunes. Again I am helpless on how to do this. They're MP3 files in my documents. What do I do...or can I email them to one of you guys and you post them for me? (if nothing else they can be played under your house to keep the rats away) Regards
JoeLB-Check out these hosting sites. Post your files at one of them, then copy and paste the links to them here on your thread. I don't think there is a way to host them on your PC unless it is set up as a server.
joeleebush: You are older than me and I had a hell of a time figuring all this computer stuff out. If it wasn't for using the computer to record, I would never have gotten one...... Being born before video games and such makes the computer a very tough thing to crack. Life is too short to lose your mind over it. How many songs do you have to post? If there aren't too many, I will set up a soundclick account. That is what you will find is you click on my icon below that says 2,000 of my songs. Well Walter,Todd Greene's suggestion worked and I got into that divshare.com and uploaded 3 tunes done live by me. #1 "In The Dark" in C and using a Bflat Chromatic #2 "736 Jump" which is a direct rip of Little Walter's "teenage beat". Done in D major using a 64. #3 "Long Lonely Nights" originally done by Hank Williams and then ruined by Johnny Guitar Watson. I do it in a doo-wop mode in C using a Low F in second. The site says "to embed press here"...I guess that's how they get transferred to here. I will also show a pic of the amp and mike I used on these and have used live and recording for the last 25 years. Thanks for your comment...we will see what happens now when I start "tinkering" Regards.
well groyster, thats all right man. I appreciate the compliment. I was working (as usual for me) for chump change at a place with a standing room crowd of about 9 people...and half of those were asleep. LOL. Not easy getting work around this city...man, this is a WAR ZONE when it comes to the $$$$. Thanks again and happy days to you. Regards
I hope it won't seem self-serving if I note that Joe Lee will be joining us at Hill Country Harmonica 2011. He promises to share all his trade secrets.
Well, all of them except the one connected with the rabbit's foot in his hip pocket.
cool sounds and I dig the low tech rig! IMO lots of people spend more time on trying to get a "great" sounding rig instead of learning to just play great. to Leon Stagg. Yes its a Radio Shack model. As it always seems to go, when something works out good, the ubiquitous "they" discontinues it. I had 4 of them but gave one to my ace harp student Reece Nazarro for a Christmas gift so now I have 3. I watch for them like a hawk on ebay and when one shows up I snatch it off immediately. The last one I bought on there (in November) was for $24.95 including the freight...it works like a charm. If you plan on getting one there, you better not stumble, LOL, because I am hard to get the drop on. I watch it daily. Stay happy and thanks for the compliments.
Although, I don't agree that Johnny Guitar Watson ruins stuff comment, but I really enjoyed those three tunes. Killer tone and more importantly, nice vocals.
I got a chance to listen last night, Mr. Joe-great playing, and a good lesson to many that the sound originates from YOU, and the gear down the chain only accentuates it. See ya at HCH, unless I make a trip to HotLanta before then(it could happen-got a sick friend there). ----------
