Do the reeds last longer than other harps as claimed by Seydel ?
Thanks.

Why don't you leave some holes when you play, and maybe some music will fall out.

They have for me and my customers. Although they do fatigue and break with aggressive attack. I have one pro player who plays very hard and he broke his first reed after 2 years of gigging and practice. Also, Jimi Lee and Mark Hummel, who endorse Seydel, also claim a longer reed life.

I had one customized by Elk River Harmonicas, and one of the reeds went flat after about a year.

I agree! My Seydel 1847 Classic in F played about 300 gigs (2,5y) and still works great! Stainless steel reeds are more durable and louder than brass or phosphor bronze. I didn't try other material. My friend made gold reed (he's professional jeweller) but it's sounds like ^%*!&%#@ :o)
One thing with the 1847 is little harder to bend overbends than brass harps... but it's small detail. ---------- ==============================

Looking promising.
My main problem is with the key of D. I'll order one now.
Thanks for the help :o) ---------- The Pentatonics Myspace Youtube

one time I accidentally hit a reed during embossing. It bent at 40degrees about 1.5mm from the rivet.
It looked awful, and a brass reed would break in 2 pieces. I straightned the reed and it didn't even get out of tune. ----------
