I don't think I've ever encountered a closed back cab, only open back. As a whole,we harp players crave lots of bass in our rigs. Would it work well for harp? The only downside I've read is it requires more power. That doesn't seem like much of a problem, since we hardly use all the power our amps are capable of. Anybody here ever try harp through a closed back cab?

My Roland MicroCube has a closed back or are we talking traditional/retro valve amps here? :) ----------

Yeah. i play through an SWR Baby Baby Blue acoustic bass amp regularly. Closed back cab, tube pre, solid state power stage. Nice deep, dark, thick basically clean tone. Of course, bass amps have larger coupling caps. I like it a lot.
I use a tubed down Fender Super Reverb Reissue for other gigs. Open back cab tube amp. Also relatively clean, but a different sound from the SWR.
I like them both--I use each for different kinds of gigs. I have a different pedal board for each. It depends on the sound you are going for.
I think bass amps in general sound pretty good for harp unless you are after that distortion/crunch tone.
