I'd be afraid to take that out of the house! That's incredible shape for 'all-original'-I had to read it all to see if it had been re-covered. ----------

Beautiful amp. It appears to have a field coil speaker. I had a field coil speaker on my Gibson BR-9 . Because the speaker on my amp was totally trashed, I had to switch to a ceramic and install a choke, but it still worked well. Todd is right. If it were mine I am not sure I would play out with it.
The news amp I have is a 1958 Gibson GA20. I don't baby any of them. They can be reliable. Always plan on spending $100 to $200 on a amp after buying it off Ebay. Send it to a good amp tech and have him make road worthy. Sometimes its easy. @MJ MY GA 20 had a fieldcoil speaker to that sounded great for half a day before it died! Old Gibsons are great harp amps.
