Just checking these out after they were mentioned in another thread. They seem good value, but can someone explain the difference between the VHT Special 6 Speaker Cabinet Closed-Back (about £100) and the VHT Special 6 Combo Amp (about £180) - apart from price that is? I have zero technical amp knowledge so any guidance appreciated. I've also been looking at the Fender Superchamp XD, which is about the same price. Any opinions on which is better?

The speaker cabinet is just that- a cabinet with a speaker and no amp. It's designed to be use with a head amp.
I'd go for the Special 6 Combo over the Fender Super Champ XD any day of the week: The XD has a solid state preamp stage and is less amenable to tweaking.

@Bruce_S: I didn't know about the solid state preamp stage in the Fender so that clears that up. Thanks for your help!
