I'm a big fan of 1st position blues on the top holes of the harp. Cotton, Bell, Wilson, Ricci all have youtube vids with 1st position play.

I was taught early to bend the 10 hole by hinging the jaw and squeezing the lips together. This works but I've been trying another way lately.

I bend the note with my throat which slightly changes the back of the tongue position. Keeping the mouth wide open with zero closing makes for a better tone and the pitch control is much more accurate. Even on the higher harps it is much easier to cleanly play up and down on the three blow notes available.

This may be old news, but I've never heard it mentioned. Anyone else blow bend this way?

Yeah harpdude the second way is the right way. No try to hit all three notes as a exercise. If you can't do this already start with a "G" harp. Work your way up to the "C". If you have a very good harp and you also are equaly as good. It is possible on the "Db" and "D". I don't even both above the "C".
