i want to make some improvements to my epiphone valve jnr. i dont which to go for the alnicomagnet kit which is the changes to the circuit board, or watford valves who supply a kit including a differant set of valves and a webber speaker. both are uk companies so might only open to uk guys on this site.

+1 on the /Lone Wolf mods.

Different speakers & tubes can certainly help, but to make real headway with a Valve Jr you need to make some alterations to the circuit. Many of those Alnicomagnet mods, by their descriptions, seem to be of limited value to harp players.

+2 on the LW mods. Randy did mine himself, and WOW, what a difference. I wouldn't have kept this amp were it not for the difference his mods and some good tubes made in it. Those mod kits such as you speak and several others are not only pricey, but most or all are catered towards the needs of guitar players.
