I have a MB and a MBD. The MBD plays easier than the MB, air seems to flow thru it easier. I'm sure its probably a gapping thing, should I gap the MB wider or lesser than the deluxe?

Check out these videos on gapping from Joe Spiers. They're incredibly helpful for gapping.

If you can't get it right you can send it to me for $20 I'll set all the reed. Then you can use that harp as a guide to do it yourself!

I've got a similar problem. My MBD in A has an issue with the #2 draw. No matter how I gap it it seems lower in volume than the other reeds.

That draw reed was dead OOTB. I tried and tried to gap it but nothing, then I cleaned it with some Kaboom and it came alive. I gapped it from there and got it the best I could in terms of volume. Anything else I should be looking for?

It sounds like maybe the comb isn't flat. There is so much stuff that can be wrong. Keep trying to gap it. The tip of the reed has to be last part of the reed to go thru the slot. This is a very slight thing. I mean the tip goes thru just barely last! You got to take the curve out of the reeds. Air passes by when they are curved.
