They do. They cost 50 - 60 bucks or if MB Deluxe isn't quality enough for you you might switch to seydell or pick up a manji. If you want better quality you could always step up to a B-Rad
Honer makes instruments, mainly for beginner or intermediate players as that is where the $ is. ----------
Burt I resist. It would be easy for them to investigate deeper and take some adjustments to improve the instrument. Take for example the reedplate they show at the beggining. It seems very leaky an probably will play very badly.
I'm not telling them to throw everything by the window just to make some adjustments to improve the overall quality of the instrument. It can be done, hohner is a big entreprise.
It's our reponsability as harp players to demand them to improve, but if we keep buying their harps just to do the work they are supossed to do (or to pay a customizer 4 tiems the cost of a harp), Hohner will be very happy and will never change.
Customer is always right!
---------- With some latin flavour for you, chico!! :P
Your right! they could change. Will they? no. It is not cost effective. They (I believe) are the leading seller of harmonicas world wide and probably 90% of the harps they sell are to people who have no idea what a leaky harp sounds like. They have responded to user complaints/suggestions by modifying the MB by producing the MB deluxe and the MB crossover. I appears thats as far as they are willing to go. As far as I'm concerned Hohner is no worse or better than any of the other manufacturers. (other than say Harrison Harmonicas)
a question for you Camilo, what company does produce harmonicas of a quality that you approve of?
Cool video! Interesting how the QA just tests chords and not individual notes? I've had little issues with all three of my MB deluxe's right OOTB btw, but they are a step up from my MB's.
