No idea, but here's a quote from Gregs Blowsmeaway site from Mr Branch himself.
"I've been performing with the Ultimate 545 now for a few months. I love it. It gives me the range of tone I'm looking for, and it is so much more comfortable to hold than the much longer and heavier mic it replaced. Greg cares a lot about his customers and worked with me to ensure I got what I really wanted and needed. I'm happy to recommend BlowsMeAway Productions to my friends and fans. The RE 10 and the 635 look similar. I have both. Originally I thought it might be an RE10, buton close examination, the "head" of this mic tapers from the grill to the body at an angle which distinguishes the 635 from the RE 10 in appearance.
That is an ElectroVoice 635A. He's been using them for years. I sent him two after all of his stuff got stolen around 2002.
They aren't for everyone. They don't have a huge booming bottom end that a lot of harp players like. They tend to sound a bit more bright. They are smaller than a 57.
Billy tends to buck conventional trends in gear choices, yet he always sounds incredibly bad ass! He is proof that the sound comes from the player. He's got killer technique and has tone for days.
I wouldn't cross the street to see many of the modern day harp gods, but I've traveled across the country to see Billy Branch. He's a killer player and a great guy. ---------- The Blues Photo Gallery

Yup, an EV 635. It's smaller and lighter than the re10. I'm not wild about the sound of the 635. I own a 631b, which is the same size, has dual impedence(eaily set up hi or low;I use it as high) and it sounds much better IMO than the 635. The 635 is still produced. These mics are easy to hold with just the pinky and ring finger, and are very light. ----------
