Here's another of AG solo. Still trying to get the slow groove. I'm learning how to work the vocal mic, boys!

The Superstition Jam with Brandon is KILLER. I ike how you are working your 'rythym section' too. Could you fill us in on some particulars such as position you and Brandon are plying in , effects you are using etc.?

the second video contains some of the best vocals I have heard from Doctor Gussow

the harmonica work from both of you obviously needs no extra validation.

@tjf: Thanks. I keep working on it. My plan is eventually to graduate into a grizzled old blues pro.

@bonedog: We're playing Ab harps, 2nd position. I don't know what effects Brandon is using here. I'm using the same rig that I used for all the tunes on KICK AND STOMP, and for the duo cut on Brandon's MEMPHIS GROOVES: a Shure PE5H mic into a 10-year old Boss DD3 digital delay, with the signal split into an early 60s Premier Twin-8 and an early 60s Kay 703A. The mic isn't terribly high output, and both amps ar cranked up almost all the way. I set the delay at the 11 o'clock position on the longest time frame (200-800 m/s is the time frame, if I'm not wrong), so it's about 400-500 milliseconds, I believe. That's longer than many people use, but it's what I like, especially outdoors. The "intensity" and "feedback" levels are set at about 8:00 or 8:30, which isn't very high. Or rather, it's not insignificant, but it's only a sliver of what they're capable of. (They're zeroed out at 6:30.)

On the second video, I'm playing a Marine Band Deluxe in G, also in second position. It's a great harp--much nicer than a stock MB in that key.

Adam, you may have mentioned this elsewhere on the site, and if you do, I apologize, but... what do you use to split your signal? I would like to do this but don't know what to use. Is there any degradation of the signal as a result of splitting it?

Thanks, and I hope you're well... SAJ

Thanks Adam. I know you've gone over your rig before - but I wasn't sure what I was hearing between the two of you playing - and I appreciate getting the details again.

You're welcome.

On headphones, I notice that I speeded up a bit towards the end of that video. Longterm, I'll try to curb that enthusiasm! Brandon and I were up before dawn in Jackson, MS--we'd played Scojo's festival the night before--and I'd driven a couple of hundred miles by 9:30 AM, which is when we'd arrived at that loading dock and begun to set up. We played at 10 AM. That's when this video was shot. Brandon did a terrific job keeping up with the overenthusiastic old guy.
