I am interested in learning more about "the care and feeding", as Adam would say, of tube amps. Currently I have very little electronic knowledge but I have been brave enough to stick a soldering iron in my amp, swap out the reverb tank and change a speaker. I want the basics with enough information that in the future maybe I can do some minor tweaking without frying myself.

I live in an area where you need to be self sufficient as I am not aware of any amp techs working locally.
Come to think of it I don't think there is even a blues harp player locally!

Any book recomedations would be appreciated. I checked the archives and I don't think this has been covered before.

I don't know about books but the website www.amptone.com has a lot of tech information about tube amps and amp modifications.

Hi - I have "The Guitar Amp Handbook" ("Understanding tube amplifiers and getting great sounds") by Dave Hunter. Pretty thorough.
