My first encounter with Muddy was in the 8th grade, when I checked an album out of the public library. 33yrs ago. Still love that shit!

I'm sure Muddy is looked upon by some as the number one bluesman of all time. I never tire of his stuff..especially the stuff with Cotton.

"Saturday night is your big night. Everybody used to fry up fish and have one hell of a time. Find me playing till sunrise for 50 cents and a sandwich. And be glad of it. And they really liked the low-down blues."

Barry, I did listen to Muddy 90% of the time until I became familiar with Howlin' Wolf. Then Junior Wells and then and then and then.

Not 90% of the time, but very, very frequently.

For me its a toss up between Muddy & Wolf I listen to a lot of different blues players but Muddy & Wolf are my # 1's I listen to. Of cause I love Little Walter & SBWII as well. But Muddy & Wolf are it. Muddy/wolf 1 & 2 interchangeably & then SBWII & then Little Walter

Fortunate to catch Muddy in Houston around '80'ish. So, I got that going for me...which is good I guess.
