This is some very hip swinging stuff. The band--especially the drummer--jumps the shark, the whale, and the big kahuna. See Dennis live! (His solo really gets cracking around 4:20-4:30 or so....)
I'm just watching the amount of button work he's doing. I don't have a G chrom to test against, only a crappy A and a C. I can sort of follow along on the A with some button hits (but my windsavers buzz so much it's hard to tell!) ---------- MBH Webbrain FerretCat Webbrain
Using a G chromatic in 3rd position and doing a nice job with it too (as Dennis always does). Song in A. This is the first time I ever heard Dennis get into a "Bill Clarke Mood"...hear some of the passages from Bill's "Moten Swing" in there. If you're fooling around with it, take a G diatonic in 3rd and play some of the licks off "Blowing the Family Jewels" against the rhythm lines...they work pretty good and it sounds good, for those who don't have a G chromatic. Dennis flat knows how to make that thing boogie woogie...what a player and a fine gentleman too!! Well worth studying. JoeLeeBush
The drummer is Tom Papadatos-played drums with Papa Chubby,Art Neilsen and Big Ed Sullivan. Earned a Bachelors of Art degree and also had his music appear on MTV,Oxygen and other TV networks. All around great guy with superior talent.

You can play along with no problem on a C Chromatic playing an A blues scale and an A minor pentatonic scale. You can't chords like third position but you can play octaves and get that phat sound. There are some cool advantages playing on C Chromatic to. ---------- Emile "Diggs" D'Amico a Legend In His Own Mind How you doin'
@Diggsblues What are some of the cool advantages of using a C here? I fail to see how much of anything could be an improvement over what "Mister D" is doing with that G in 3rd. Enlighten me, please. JoeLee
Just one. I can't give away all of my secrets. b5 4 b3 lick it can played fast and sounds cool. Give more of a Stevie Wonder vibe. I practice all twelve blues scale on a regular basis on a C Chromatic. Here's an example using the A blues and several other versions of the minor scale plus.dorian etc A lot of blues bands do this tune now. This is about 8 years old. Starts off slow so hang in there.

You played "Ain't No Sunshine"...not "Jump Time". And you do very well on it too, your harp sounds beautiful...but it ain't "Jump Time". Thanks for one of your secrets though. JoeLee
