Being an apartment dweller, I thought I'd build myself a low powered amp for home use, so I built a half W amp. By ear, it sounds about half as loud as my champ, but still probably a bit loud for anything other than daylight hours...so if I was to do it again, I'd probaby aim for lower power (12AY7 power tube instead of the 6SN7) and/or an attenuator circuit between amp & speaker.
It's self-split, push-pull (like a 15W+ amp) rather than single-ended like a champ, the idea behind this being that I was after something that didn't sound driven right off the bat and had some flexibility, from clean to driven.
