I gave this a try to add less often used keys to my kit and they work great. I had these old harps with bad reeds in my junk bin. Bluesmasters, Harpmasters, and early Delta Frost combs all accepted Story reed plates and played more easily than the original Suzuki plates.
The plates are under $20 at Ron's and come in regular and low keys (as well as some minor keys I have not tried.)
This is an inexpensive way to repurpose these harps for infrequently used keys and to get a low F or low F# harp at low cost. ----------

Cool! That means they also fit into the other Suzuki harmonicas. Something worth keeping in mind for people who own Suzuki harmonicas that no longer function.

I am thinking of trying a DaBell Contender set of reed plates to repair an Olive Bb that has a fatally flat draw 5. This is only the second failed reed in all my Manjis and Olives over years of using them when playing hard.
Have you tried Contender or Noble plates on a Manji or Olive? According to AZ's description on his custom comb page, DaBell sandwich style plates should fit on Manji and Olive combs. His combs are really good, but I can't afford to build all my harps on them.
I have only substituted Story plates to revive old Bushman Delta Frosts and Suzuki Bluesmasters and Harpmasters, all in recessed combs. The DaBell Story plates work great in recessed Suzuki and Delta Frost combs!
I like to use Hohners for quieter playing, and Suzukis and Seydels for when I may overdo my breath force in loud circumstances. ----------

I recently received a Story harp and I was very pleased with the playability of the harp. ---------- theharmonicaclub.com (of Huntington, WV)

OK. I've been wanting a low F harp that was better than my Eastop 008, so I just ordered the low F Story plates. Thanks for the info ---------- theharmonicaclub.com (of Huntington, WV)
