I wrote the following to David Payne who has taken over Client Relations. If you feel similarly please let them know. An order number and 'currently shipping' notice is not too much to ask.
Hi David,
Thanks for the reply.
What would make me feel better about this is a numbered order list. Take a ticket like you do at the deli counter. Not that complicated. I'd know I was number 986 on the C harp list (or whatever) and today you are shipping # 345. I could look at the web site and actually see where I stand. I could get an idea of the pace of production and shipping. No more mystery. A heck of a lot less work for you -answering all these queries. Free up time better spent getting the harps out perhaps?
I and others need high quality harps and don't know wether or not to order more customs. Budgets are not unlimited in this regard either.
I believe in what you folks are doing and want to continue to support it ,order more keys etc. - but at this point I've made an investment (a small one) - and accountability on your guys part is amorphous at best.
Where do I stand? I know your production rates will slowly ramp up. I am patient - But - Give me a number - Please ! I think that would only be fair. What is my order number anyway? I've gotten a confirmation but not an invoice.
sincerely Noam Cohen

Wow! Can I copy and paste that? That's exactly how I feel about this B-Rad thang! I talked to Dave in Aug. and he said MAYBE by late Sep. Well ,it's now Nov. and I haven't heard anything. I was dropping them a line this week on my order. When we talked in Aug. I told him: " Look I'm willing to wait but just tell me what's going on from time to time." Dave strikes me a being an honest, straight up kind of guy. Did you get a reply yet?
Edit: At least you got a confirmation number! I ain't even there yet! 14 months

Sure -copy it - quote me or whatever. Lets get a bunch of us onboard. I don't want to rush them , cut the line or whatever. I just want to know where I stand without the mystery - so I can plan my purchases etc.
I only got a confirmation email after my order - not a number. Never ordered anything without an order number before or heard of someone taking a deposit without an order number. ----------

I haven't ordered one of these harps, so in a sense, I've no dog in this fight. But I'm curious, those of you who have ordered these, have you either paid for them in full, or put down a deposit on them? And if so, 14 months after a financial commitment and no product?????
You guys might be the most loyal customers on the face of the planet (take this from someone with many years experience in business at a fairly high level).
I'm suprised there hasn't been a wholesale, Bastille-like storming of the "manufacturing facility", with the attendant calls for refunds, or at least a scampering off with the various reeds, combs and coverplates lying about.
EDIT: As I read a little more closely, its clear that people are putting down deposits, so my question on that was kind of unnecessary.

Paid in full & waiting forever with no updates, no order number, no timetable, nor anything else you would expect from any reputable business!
Oh ya, and one other NO...no, not gonna order any more! ---------- ~Banned in Boston!

I have no dogs in this race either...I chickened out and ordered from Buddha.
I can't imagine doing business and not shipping harps in the order received. I believe it would bother my concious not to be fair to people who have payed their money.
If a promise date is one day over you should be getting an apology/explanation e-mail the next day.

The deposit required was $80 for each $180 harmonica. Paid in March 10, 2010 - $247 for three. Received the following confirmation and promise:
Congratulations!
You have just pre-ordered the world's finest harmonica, made right here in the United States!
We will be shipping your instrument(s) to you in May 2010 and we will keep you posted on our progress.

Ya, I got my money refunded. At least that happened promptly! Even one custom harp guy can deliver over this company. Custom harps for the win.
