I played some harp at a local bar this last friday night for a friends band,I hadnt been out of the house for awhile,at the house i normally use a 15r fender and a Kustom 12A pre amp tube amp,I got awhile back,Ive ran them both with a Y split cable for awhile But started running them piggy back the Kustom pre amp tube into the fender reverb cause i was getting a better sound that way,I wasnt sure if they would be loud enough and this, friday i found out they were allmost, but not quite and they would feedback if pushed to much,I got a Honeytone amp for my birthay its 1 watt 2inch speaker and it has a honey tone it sounds better than the other 2 amps put together,It makes my Cigarbox guitar sound good and its killer for harp tone,I couldnt believe it,I was wondering,Its battery powered by 9 volt but i have a adapter, and sence it looks like i might have to mic 1 of the other amps in order for them to be loud enough, couldnt i just mic the honey tone?It has a headphone out jack and i can solder a 1/4 jack in without much trouble if needed, but i was wondering about micing it direct,is that feasible, cause these little amps have a nice tone and the break up is cool

A much better option than micing it would be to tap onto the speaker feeds and install a line-out jack (with a voltage divider), although you certainly could mic it if the band wasn't too loud. I have a Honeytone and like it, but I have to say that if you like it's tone better than the two bigger amps you own, you need to sell them both and buy one decent amp.

yea ive thought about selling them and getting a valve jr,But i use them for my 1 man band setup ive been working on. The fender reverb i use for vocals and harp in rack ,I run it clean with reverb and the kustom works good for the guitar,But thats just with the 1 man band setup,I might try the line out i have everything here to do the job.except what is a voltage divider?

You can run the Honeytone direct to the board if you plug in a 1/8" stereo to 1/4" mono cable at the headphone jack. Then plug the 1/4" mono into a DI box and an XLR to the board. Sounds complicated but really isn't. Then the Honeytone is essentially a distortion box. You might try running the 1/4" into your Fender amp and then you'll have reverb. Just remember that the volume control on the Honeytone affects the headphone output (which is not a line out) so start with low volume and add more until you get what you want. I'm sure someone will tell us that you're likely to blow up your amp this way, but those little SS Fender amps take a lot of abuse. If you were running it into a tube amp, it might be a different story.

Have you ever seen one of those "plate holders"? You know, the one that holds it upright for display. I bent one of those a little and made a damn nice stand for one. I also took some heat shrink to the legs so it wouldn't slide around.

I love Honeytone too. I always take it to small acoustic gigs.

Love my honeytone... Used mine for some pretty big gigs (The comedy value of it in a row with a full size bass amp and the guitarist's twin reverb all in a row, all miked up always gets me!).

Has anyone tried any the mini fender tweed amp for harmonica? It has two 2 inch speakers and looks a lot cooler.
