With a few limited exceptions, up until now BlowsMeAway Productions has only sold products that I make. However my customers frequently ask about wireless systems. There are no wireless systems specifically for harp, and information about adapting existing systems is virtually nonexistent. Some systems work well. Others don't. I decided somebody needed to address this problem.
After a careful search, I concluded that the Samson line offered the best foundation. For the U.S. market, their systems are already migrated to new FCC approved frequencies. They have both amp-top/rack mount and pedal-based receivers. Their transmitters have the headroom required to handle the high output of harp mics. I have set up these systems and tested them with various mics. I have used them in performance. I am convinced these systems offer the best value to the harp player looking to go wireless. So BlowsMeAway is now an official Samson Dealer.
I am not selling their bundled systems aimed at guitar players, or forcing you to buy a microphone you don't want. Instead I'm offering systems that are designed with harp players in mind. Given the "margin-free" price expectations of internet shopping, I don't make much money selling these systems. My motivation is simply to provide more complete service to you. However Samson requires a significant annual commitment from me, so in order to maintain dealership status I hope you will choose to purchase from me so that I may continue to offer this service.
For much more information, and pretty pictures, in color....... please have a look at the new wireless systems web page on my site.

once again, greg, you are leading us into bankruptcy!! lol really, i think it is very cool that you have not only checked them out, but give them your approval for us. i am sure that many harpsters will become your customers, and not only for the mic which continues to get good reviews. congratulations.

I know a tenor sax player who uses a Samson mic/transmitter (one wireless unit that clips onto the bell of his horn) with an AP-1 wireless receiver (shown on Greg's wireless page). He gets great sound. The AP-1 is extremely compact.

I use the Samson Airline, largely on Greg's personal recommendation, and I like it a lot. Wish I didn't already have it so I could buy it from you, Greg.

I tired of long stock 57 without VC + wireless transmitter + big reciever. I really want ultimate 57 + AX1 + AP1 Receiver, it takes less place than long cable... But I'm short of money and I need bunch of other devices faster (Zoom H2 for recordings rehearsals, jams and gigs)... pitty ---------- Excuse my bad English. Honor makes - or shlocked together, a harp specific system. I tried it and it was noisy , radio interference prone and otherwise worthless. The lapel condenser mic in the 'brass knuckle" grip is an interesting idea though. http://www.hoodoobyhohner.com/

The Hohner system is, to be polite, absolute crap. And this is coming from a guy who has a verifiable track record of almost NEVER saying negative things about anyone online. Hohner should stick to harmonicas. It is clear they believe that the only market worthy of their consideration is the bottom-rung idiot with way more money than knowledge or talent. And it may be that that IS the only market it makes sense for them to go after - amplified harp players in general are a small market and the bigger a company is, the harder it is for them to cater to low volume markets. That's why people like me can actually succeed. It is also why I wouldn't be caught dead trying to sell anything to guitar players. Ever look at the wall of blister-pack products made in China at Guitar Center? But I'm ranting. Blame it on the wine..... ---------- /Greg

Hi Greg, Sorry to Hi-jack your thread but have you ever been asked to do an Ultimate job on an EV RE10 mic as they are very long. I would be interested in getting mine done. Same head shorter body and Hi Z with V/C. Maybe others have thought of this if its viable. Cheers

@Ox - I have been asked, but no,I don't do it. The RE10's transformer is fully potted in that barrel and it doesn't come apart easily. Plus the market is pretty small - and there's a lot of engineering behind the Ultimate barrel which is very specifically designed to the Shure form factor. I haven't been convinced that it would be worth it to me - I would almost certainly destroy a couple of RE-10's in the process. (On the other hand if someone has one that isn't working and they're willing to give it to me, I would be happy to do some research.) ---------- /Greg
