I have a 12 hole chromatic in"C". Is there a position that works better with chromatics when working with minor progresions, ya know 3rd 5th etc. I'm just starting to delve into the chromatic side of harmonica. Mike

Third position! Thats the position most blues players use. The third and seventh are minor so its perfect for paying minor tunes.

Pull up some William Clarke tunes. Big tongue blocked draw chords.
Check out Jason Ricci's chromatic lessons:

Just remember one thing if you go on Slidemeister and post there. Do not mention ANYTHING about blues or diatonic harmonicas or all the gear stuff diatonic players go bonkers over because the owner/moderator of that forum, AJ Fedor, will kick your butt off there in a NY minute.
I'd also add for 3rd position chromatic, Little Walter, thohe didn't play octaves or the slide on a chromatic, and also George "HarmonicaS Smith, who was not only William Clarke's teacher, but also taught Rod Piazza and Kim Wilson as well. George also played 1st postion chromatic for blues as well. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte
