----------I needed a repair to a bullet I have come to rely on. As a pragmatic forum poster I reached out with a question which Greg answered as he often generously does. I then sent the mike to him rather than struggle. It now has been repaired at a modest fee relative to the work, interest, and communication. It's always a value of mine to acknowledge skill and generosity: Especially when they are married! Thanks Greg. d

I believe you're talking about Greg Heumann correct?

I would agree with everything you said regarding Greg, and I haven't even had any dealings with him. Why would I say that? Well, I'm a total neophyte when it comes to harp mikes and miking. Most of the threads that talk about the topic are WAY over my head.

So "who ya gonna call', well it's actually more like "what ya gonna read". Greg's written an excellent primer on the subject, free for downloading from his website.

This cat is one of the most generous guys with his knowledge. I would imagine he's the same way with his craft.

+1 on Greg's work. Here's another interesting thing footnote. He keeps good records on the work he performs. A couple of years after he repaired one of my mics, he was able to look up exactly what he did to it and when.

He's also a fantastic harp player.

Greg does a fantastic job with mic mods as well! He modded a Shure Commando for me by putting on a base with a screw on connector...it's very professional looking. I would highly recommend him.
