----------I acquired a harp recently that seems quite airy/leaky. I’ve never done much flat sanding, but have started on this one. Couple of questions: on the draw plate, do I need to sand to the point that the entire plate is shiny? What about the blow plate? I’m using 800 wet/dry sand paper. Is that aggressive enough or too aggressive?
Thanks

You should deinitely flat sand until the entire plate is shiny. Wet sanding is the way to go. 800 grit is not aggssive enough. It will turn a job which should take no more than a minute into a 5 minute workout. Use 320 or 400 grit paper and then ifyou want to make the plates even smother, move to the 800 that you are using.
