Not about specific genres like Chicago Blues and harmonica blues, but Scorseses series on the blues is great. Guest directors like Clint Eastwood and Wim Wenders make this series great from a cinematic point of view too.
The American Folk Blues Festival series is where a lot of those great b&w 60s clips on Youtube come from.

And This Is Free: The Life And Times Of Maxwell Street
This DVD is not just about Chicago blues but puts it in the larger context of the whole urban dynamic of the first two thirds of the twentieth century in Chicago and includes a Chicago blues CD. ---------- Ozark Rich

PBS did something here lately on the Blues and Blues music. Maybe if you check out their web site you might find out more about it. Seemed like it was pretty decent from the shows that I watched.

Don't remember if it was in this PBS stuff or something else but they did a piece on Robert Johnson and I'm thinking "Wow, that guy influenced a lot of bands that I really like." he was way more important then people give him credit for being. It's like if you trace Blues and Rock back to it's start you'll find him sitting there in his chair at the Crossroads, just pickin' out a tune. ---------- Suzuki HarpMaster in C Suzuki FolkMaster in D,E and F Hohner Old Standby in A Hohner Special 20 in Bb Hohner Big River in Low F,G,A,Bb,C and D

There are several, but one that lingers in my heart forever is the Cokliss film called Chicago Blues. ---------- The Blues Photo Gallery

The Junior Wells and Howlin' Wolf biographies are good, too. You could always check out some of the videos with Bobby Rush in them. He's a good storyteller and a very engaging guy.

Just got looking at Antone's Home of the Blues. Found it on blockbuster.com. Very good, this guy knew all the greats.
