Quick heads up, just came from Wal-Mart and they've got a nice little pouch in Sporting Goods for Choke Tubes that works great for harps. It has 6 elastic loops inside, 3 per side so you can hold 6 harps total plus an outside zipper pocket for a cloth to wipe off your harps when you're done playing or extra cash for drinkin' money. Anyway, it was on sale for $5 bucks, normal price is still only $6.97 but for $5 bucks you just can't beat it. Anyway, that's all.

i new frank would finally get with the program and offer up some useful information instead of debating with himself and us over "the next harp."
;-)

btw- what are choke tubes? sounds like it should be in the pharmacy or with baby stuff.

Most modern shotguns have removable chokes so you can change out from a Improved Cylinder to a Modified or a Full Choke as the situation warrants. You also get 6 nice little plastic tubes that you can store small parts or stuff in. Guess I need to post a pic or something, like people always say "This Thread is useless without pics."

I found this choke tube case at Amazon which seems to sorta match your description. Oh and it's double the price which makes the deal you found sound sweeter.

Actually pretty good idear.

That's actually it Ryan except this one is black instead of green. I may pick up another one just to hang onto to store my "odd" harps in. This pouch also has belt loops to you can attach it to your belt, very handy.

That's a very cool idea! Those elastic sleeves appear to be the perfect size to hold diatonics. Now, to find one that isn't safety orange, realtree camo or has pictures of ducks all over it...

the choke tube case is only 4.5 inches high so it shouldn't make any difference if the elastic stretches a little bit

I was going to say, there's not really that much room for em' to move around much anyway so all the elastic does is stop em' from bangin' around against each other. I'm going to pick up another one just to have on hand, hope they still got one that's on sale for $5 bucks.

I knew there had to be something out there locally that was inexpensive and that would hold a decent amount of harps without having to pay $30=$30 bucks for an actual Harp Bag/Pouch. I'd been looking for a week or so before I stumbled across this deal.
6 Harps is just about perfect since you can carry your G,A,Bb,C,D and F which are normally the main harps that people use from all the info I've read. If you need to carry more then simply get a second pouch.
I'm just glad I could contribute some good info to ya'll, even if it was only about a pouch.

Got to check this one out, I have a Cumberland belt, but need a nice pouch for my extra harps. I have a section in my tool bag I use to put harps but they fall out all the time, this will keep them confined,Usually G, D, A, C, . Thanks for tip. But ixnay on telling others because when theres a run on a bargain, the price goes up, Have you finalized your choice of a harp brand, I have been following your story.

I'm for sure getting a set of Big Rivers, almost got it now except for a C,Eb and F harp. Probably get a couple more HarpMasters or maybe Special 20's for carry around harps. Both are pretty decent harps but the HarpMaster is a bit less expensive so even with welded in reeds that's probably what I'll go with. I'd like a G,A,Bb,D and F in the HarpMasters for a nice 6 harp set to pack around. IDK, I'm probably wasting money and should just use the Big River harps but my OCD wants em' as a collection more then working harps,LOL. Crazy how my mind works.

I like the Suzuki harps, all of them, the HarpMaster is a good one, same design as the Delta Frost, with replaceable reeds, The Big River is OK but the design with the reed plate edge bugs me, over all the Suzuki tupe harps are the best for me. For a cheap harp I like the Huang star performer. and for a really cheap harp a Johnson BluesKing. I bought a close out of First Act harps at Walgreens, with instruction books for three bucks apiece, I give these to kids who seem interested in learning to play the harmonica.. They work great for that.

for a bit more you can get a decent case - complete with harmonicas to give to the kids - or practice gapping on. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Hohner-Piedmont-Blues-7-Harmonica-Pack-with-Case-103225843-i1134124.gc?source=4WFRWXX&CAWELAID=29474750

or 12 harp - I have this one and love it.

That's the same case that came with my Hot Metal harps. I paid $35 for all 5 harps and the case. If you just order the case I've found em' for $25 so actually it'd be a bit cheaper to just get the Piedmont Blues harps and case for $22, go figure.
Still, $5 bucks for a 6 harp case is still a pretty decent deal and even if you end up paying $7 for it at least you can get it local at WalMart and not have to pay shipping or anything.

Boo, these are still on clearance for $5 and still seem a good idea but only for harmonicas the size of a marine band. Don't expect to squeeze golden melodies in here. As I quickly realized they are too big.

Are you talking length or width? Length wise my Golden Melody fits fine but it is a wider harp then my HarpMaster or Special 20 so I could see how you might run into problems if you try to squeeze 3 of em' side by side flat. You can always put em' on a 45* angle and they'll fit fine at least in the pouch that I have.

Logic would dictate that there are some bird hunters out there storing their choke tubes in [expensive] harmonica cases?

(Back in my duck hunting days, my choke tubes would be rollin' around in my pick up bed, along with the PBR empties) ;-)
