Gary's long time colaborator and guitarist Mark Korpi and myself performed a tribute to Gary Primich three years to the day after his passing from the Beach Shack in Cocoa Beach,Florida. The songs include "Hardwood Floor", the unreleased "Midnight Ride", and "Brown Derby Liqour".
i met gary when he first came to so. calif one of the nicest people i ever met saw him play at the golden sails harp blow down using rod piazzas band he wasthe first one on , and i thought i might as well go home now aint gonna get any better he was one of the best in the world
Mr Freeze is the 'best' harmonica album for me and Gary is my fave. He has individual phrasing and original chops that NO-ONE else has ever had (in the modern style) and I love it!!! So, thanks for the tribute and me, I am with you guys, here in the uk
I saw Gary play many times and I talked to him many times and drank with him. He was one of the nicest musicians I ever met. He was real friendly and unpretentious and a great harp player. His passing was a big lost to the blues world.
My pleasure-I saw Gary one time only-Terra Blues,NYC 1993-I met him and chatted for a while-super friendly-we talked about mics,amps-the usual harp stuff. I am fortunate to have hooked up with Mark Korpi-we will be working on more unreleased songs in the future-Mark has quite the stash.
