TN FRANK: Don't count your grandson Michael who is more into baseball out. I played pro baseball and ended up a harp player anyway. ( I had to laugh because my first name is Michael also).

I usually keep all my harps cause there always seems to be a tuning I want to mess with or spare reeds if I need them.

I dunno about cheap book TNFrank but Id easily recommend picking up beginners Harmonica for Dummies. Dont be fooled by the name itll get anybody up to speed quickly. Rock N' Blues harmonica might also be good choice too.

Lol, I found this: Mel Bay's Easiest Harmonica Book

Speaking of which Harmonica for Dummies is $15 on Amazon.com if you can order online.

Go on ebay or amazon and pick up harmonica for the musically hopeless. Probably run about 4 to 6 bucks.

I second that recommendation for the Harmonica for Dummies book, and yes, the 'Dummies' title is somewhat misleading. The book is extremely comprehensive, and, in the long run, may well save you a lot of smashing your head against the wall and chucking your harps out of the window.
