Hey guys, first post. Cool forum.
Anybody know what happened to Tom with "Toms mics".
He was one of the first guys to start selling the vintage harp mics, but I havent seen his name mentioned in a few years. This was about 10 years ago.
Just curious. Matt

Hi Matt,
I did a forum search and came up with next to no references so I guess it's safe to post. I'll first state I never heard of Tom's Mics. I did a quick Google search and came up with not too much.
What I did find sounds like you're looking for Tom Ellis, I see some references on harmonicamasterclass and a couple broken site links for Tom's Mics. Also a nice paragraph about the guy from hoot harmonicas.
Some working links with references:
toms-mics at jt30.com
Couple mentions of him on harmonicamasterclass.com
Hoot Harmonica
Also an email address if it works: tomsmics@flexcomp.com
Maybe now that there's a name to the place others can chime in.

So I get a news letter from Dennis Gruenling and he mentions Tom Ellis "Toms Mics" At BadAss Harmonica. You might check that out. I believe he worked on William Clarkes Microphones. He shows some other builders. you should check that out. There is also James at Simple Mics. He does nice work. Also Greg Heumann.

I bought a few vintage mics from Tom about 20 years ago: PE54 pistol grip (a Butterfield fav), Sure 533, EV638. He was always helpful and answered all my pesky emails. He even once sent me 3 vintage elements, and trusted me to send back the 2 I didn't want (after having done business with him previously). BTW, I could maybe part with that PE54. I think I listed it here for sale a few years ago.
