Jon Gindick and I have parted ways as a result of his decision to schedule an additional jam camp next spring in direct competition with Hill Country Harmonica 2011.

I won't be teaching at his fall jam camp in Clarksdale--I was scheduled for October 1--and I won't be teaching for him in the future. This was my decision, not his. Since I take my commitments seriously and don't abrogate them lightly, it was a painful decision. I apologize to any members of this forum who may perhaps have decided to attend this particular camp in the hope of working with me. (In past camps, there have always been at least a couple of people where this was true.) Please contact me off-forum (asgussow@aol.com) and I'll do my best to make it up to you. In lieu of appearing at jam camp on October 1, I'm willing to give private lessons or a group lesson in my Oxford home, a one-hour drive from Clarksdale, to any camper or campers who are up for that.

Gindick is a talented teacher who has done a great deal of good in the world of blues harmonica teaching. He and I have our differences, however, and I would be lying if I said that our present parting of the ways was amicable.

[thread locked on 9/23/10 and all subsequent posts deleted. My primary purpose in starting this thread was to explain why I was breaking my agreement to teach on October 1 at Jon's upcoming camps, and in the hope that word would travel to any participants in that camp. That goal has been achieved. Thanks to all who contributed, and my apologies for deleting your contributions. I trust that you understand.]
