Hey all, There might be a few of you close enough to benefit from this. Adam Gussow is playing tunes from his new solo CD on Friday Sept 24th around 9:00 at Pat's Blue Ribbon, 12th and Moro in Manhattan Kansas. Earlier, 10:30 am, he will speak (details below).
I am also trying to line up a radio spot for him to play a few songs and be interviewed on Thursday evening. The station streams online so more details as that comes together. "It's All Mississippi to Me: Promoting the Blues and Forging Beloved Community in the Contemporary South."
Gussow will talk about his experience as the founder and producer of Hill Country Harmonica, a blues-focused event that took place in north Mississippi this past spring. Drawing on his training as a scholar of African American literature and culture, he'll speak frankly about race relations in the contemporary South and of...fer a message of hope for those seeking to increase the peace. Hi all, The interview might be closer to 8:00, but I think the time is a bit rough. Adam plans to do his amp/drum setup. Cheers, Walter
