Okay so i did a review on promaster. But yesterday when i opened the harp to look at the reedplates and the setup bits off the valves where missing at the side. It doesnt really affect the playing but i was suprised to see the valves like that. Is there an explanation for this? Ive had it for less than a week so i dont think the valves would erode that fast.

Are seydels like that or are there no missing bits off the valves?
That sounds wrong to me It looks like a quality control issue. I have not noticed that on my 350V's athough I bought one in A where the valve stopped a millimetre shot of the end of the reed slot and was not working correctly. I sent it back and had it exchanged but the replacement had a really bad rattle of hole 2 so that went back and I got a Suzuki Hammond instead (a lovely unvalved harp and a bit more mellow in tone). My C promaster is fine and I do really like the instrument, It has great tone but it does take a bit of time to get used to the appropriate technique for bending the valved notes.
These valved harps do have a tendency to rattle and on balance I won't be buying another one, but I continue to use this one from time to time on my vids.
I attach a couple of vids of me using the 350V one bluesy and one ballad. These vids do not use much of the valved bend technique but give an idea of the tone.
PT doenst cut the valves on his harps to go all the way to the end, even in the pdf he sent me, most of his valves stopped short of the end. just fyi...the one harp i "converted" to valved, per his instructions, were cut in similar fashion. so, i wouldnt worry too much about the windsavers not going all the way to the end of the reed. ---------- Kyzer's Travels Kyzer's Artwork
