I just drink sour milk. Get's me buzzed every time. Listerine or Robitussin works too especially the tussin.
I also like to make my own meth. Its dangerous but a lot cheaper to make yourself. And since I have dogs that are trained to bite, I think it wouldn't be too difficult to roll a few drunks for their Colt 40 or wine.
Ah what a great DYI world this is!

I used to make my own beer. I tried the syrups, but they are terrible. I bought malted barley grains and hop pellets. I crushed the grains, then heated them in water at controlled temperatures until all the starch was converted to sugar.
Then I rinsed all the sugars out and boiled it down to the volume I needed. When it cooled enough, I added the yeast and let it ferment for about two weeks. I bottled it in sanitized bottles and let them sit for about a month.
I used to make excellent beer. But it takes almost 16 hours and smells up the house. So I just buy my beer nowadays.
I never was a fan of home made wine. I always thought that the challenge in making wine was in growing the grapes. Basically, the wine is as good as it can be when you buy the concentrate and the challenge as a home wine maker is to make it without ruining it.
That being said, I wouldn't refuse any, if I was offered some... ----------

I've made my own beer, and have a friend who continuously does-both kits and the whole grain type. I've had mostly good results, getting the majority of kits from Midwest Brewing Supply. I've never done any of the lagers or others that require a controlled cool temperature for several months;it's just to friggin' hot down here most of the time. It's an enjoyable and redeeming(hiccup)hobby. ----------

Used to make both wine and beer. Started when I was a kid making raisin wine based on something we'd read WWII POWs had done. It was awful rough stuff, and we never got the nerve to drink it. Graduated to grape juice, baker's yeast and a balloon on top of the jug. Still rough. Later I moved up to some concentrate-based wines and fruit wines, with real live wine yeast, and that was much better, but the results were mixed.
Then the beer bug hit. Started with the concentrates then partial mash, then full mash. Turned out some very good stuff in those days, but man it was a chore.
Some years back they started selling high-quality kit wines, complete with varietal concentrates, liquid yeast, finings, etc. Produced some excellent wines with those, but it's not really DIY enough to call it homemade. At least not what I call homemade. But, the results were good enough that they passed muster with people that usually turned their nose up to homemade anything. They cost quite a bit more, but they're a good way to get started. ----------

I used to have two Beer Machines. They had some good recipes but weren't cost effective. Flashback! I made a scotch ale one year. It was done on christmas eve. We got home from the family thing and I started sampling it. I wasn't right for two days. Damn that was strong.

My Grandfather used to make it and sell it during prohibition. My doctor says I need to drink some everyday for my health. I usually drink some and then post here. ----------

I'm a novice winemaker. Just picked a few kilos of elderberries off some bushes in Pevensey Castle, squeezed all the juice out of them added sugar and yeast and they're bubbling away nicely in balloon capped demijohns. Trouble is I've been told you have to wait 6 months before you can drink it. Dunno if I can wait that long!!!

i started brewing beer from kits when i was a teenager cause i had no money. it tasted like shit but it did the trick. i lived in sharehouses and realised that it was an easy weekly chore. i never cooked or cleaned i just made two kegs of beer a week, never got any complaints. i've done a few full mash brews but now that i can afford beer its difficult to get inspired to spend all day making it, i'd rather pay the cooper family to do it for me.

Geez Hobo! That sounds wild!
We had clepto in college that set up a distilling rig in the chem lab, unlocked the window and then swiped it that night. He turned out some ok tasting stuff, but I figgered I was still gonna need my brain so I mostly stayed away. ----------

yea i havent made any in about 4 years, one of my closest friends was a major acoholic who drank a pint to a 5th a day, couldnt handle it i was asked not to give him any more cause he drank a half pint one night and went beserk and tore his whole trailer up,messed him up,but me i would just drink a few shots,But it takes me about 8 hours to make a 5th if i distill it 3 times, each time you run it though it gets cleaner, about 3 makes the best twice aint bad.granted my still only held a gallon of mash, but it was fun.

TNfrank how many times you run it though?Ever try 3,when i 1st started making i would just do 1 run,but thats not that great, most times i would do twice allmost all the time, but i was told 3 the best so,one time i tried 3 man its like boiling gas,you have to be very very careful,my mash pot actually expanded just a little my seals held but i was kind of nervous, but she went though,I took a 5th to a party passed it around got a couple shots well 3or 4 next thing i was waking up on a couch i remember nothing,I looked over at the girl next to me and said what time was it,it was night about 9 when i took 3 or 4 shots it was the next morning i said wow, stood up the walls were moving like i was on acid,I walked down the road to the house felt like was tripping, went home went to bed .Ive never had alcohol do that to me,ive been drunk hammered befor but never like that i cant even explain how much better the 3rd run though was,But i never attempted running it though 3 times again like i said it gets kind of dangerous after 2 runs.

i dont make it any more either my granpa told me how when i was a kid, then i decided to try it a few years ago did a bunch or online reasearch on it,and it said that methanol is only produced from wood grain alcohol, that the regular mash wouldnt have it,and that moonshine got a bad rep, because some shiners would use radiators as a coil and weird stuff like that and sometimes bad stuff would get into the mix,my still was all copper and stanless steel i drank what ever i made no pouring it out, just had to make at least 2 runs, but then again i have bad eye sight and it would make a man crazy, good thing i stoped:-)

I met a man who had won many prizes for his (fruit) wines, but he gave up because the price of sugar (in the UK) meant it was no more expensive to buy wine of the same quality from the supermarket. ---------- Andrew, gentleman of leisure, noodler extraordinaire.

Since I spend a lot of time on the road, when I find myself stuck in motel rooms in big cities, I have a habit of walking streets and finding the odd guitarist to spend a little time with. This can run the full range from those earnest busker-types to the homeless dude that is hauling a guitar through life on his shopping cart. Some of these guys can flat out pick.
My primary office is in San Francisco, but I have spent quality time in many of the larger American cities with waterfronts. Many times I have been told that my presence gave a considerable boost to the take in the hat. Nice to know that I can fall back on an alternative retirement plan if the whole investment thing falls through. Plenty of gratitude has come my way in the sincere gesture of a brown bag passed to me.
Let me tell you, there is some seriously nasty shit out there being passed off as "liquor" available in the rougher parts of town.
You ever taste any warm "Taka" vodka? Yech.
