I just finished this project:

I started with my old peavey special 130, which had a 12 inch Celestion 12gh-100 speaker in it. I built the cabinet out of 3/4 inch pine, whith finger jointed corners. the baffle is 3/8 inch baltic birch plywood, and I added a 10 inch 150 watt Jensen bass speaker to it. I also added a presonus blue tube preamp, with a 12ay7 for some vintage tube crunch. the whole thing is covered with fender-style black tolex, and outfitted with fender handles and corners. this thing really cranks, and with loads of bottom end! What's really nice is the versitiliy that the presonus preamp lends. It has a drive knob for adjusting the amount of signal that runs through the tube. I leave the gain on the presonus all the way turned off, and run that into the preamp of the peavey. This allows me to add more tube for a dirtier sound, or less for a cleaner sound. maybe I'll post some sound samples soon.

Here's another picture of the whole setup:

Here's a couple quick sound files.I used 1 microphone for each of the speakers, and recorded it as stereo, 1 speaker left, 1 speaker right. No other editing was involved besides normalizing the file. The playing isn't perfect, but it'll give you an idea of the sound of the amp!

Here's a blues setting with some crunch:

Here's a cleaner setting:

Leave some comments on what you think of the sound of the amp. Enjoy!
