i have the chance of getting hold of a secondhand fender bassman 10, a 50 watt amp. would you use this guitar amp for harp, and how much do you think i should pay if i should buy it? in english money. my mate who is selling it has said it does need a service but is working.

Ditto on buddhas response,i bought one yrs.ago with a premier 90 for $250.I sold the B 10 for $350. and kept the 90.No volume,very limited for mods,don,t do it.Save your $$$.

If it's the model with the 4x10's, it's not bad. A buddy of mine has one. His was sort of beat up. He got it at a dirt cheap price. He had Skip Simmons work on it. He didn't mod it. He restored it.
It sounds great. It can get very loud. The biggest downside is that it is physically large and very heavy. We called it the Tower of Power for a reason.
If won't make a good player better, but if you bring some skills to the table, it'll sound pretty good.

i have a replica '59 bassman that is just the best. most later models have a bad rep harp-wise. the one i've got has been tweaked some for harp and does all a harp player could possibly want for outdoor and big room applications.
