I'm sure everybody here has seen this, but it might be good to be reminded of what it takes to interest the broad pop-music public in the harmonica all over again--as L. D. Miller did here. It certainly put a smile on my face, and since that happens only rarely these days, I tend to trust the feeling. Call it the WTF?! factor:
The third judge was very correct in his assessment, however, you dont tell a 12 year old on national television that he has to drop his family to succeed. It is OBVIOUS to me and the audience, that on this night, his level of success could have been none higher... ---------- Kyzer's Travels Kyzer's Artwork
the kid is awesome,on harp but the older brother didnt sound to bad singing i liked the song i listened to it a couple of times lots of energy in it,And with a backup band behind them the guitarist didnt have to add much playing.I think the judge was to harsh cause i dug the song.
If I were to write what I think of Piers Morgan here, I would be breaking the forum creed. nuff said.
Reality talent shows (eeeuuucchhhh!!!) aside, I enjoyed this clip more than I expected. Back then, I wrote LD off as a John Popper clone. Now I can see there's more to him than that; I've also mellowed more to Popper and Sugar Blue and that fast triplet style.
Watching the clip really clarifies what I was trying to say in another thread. He is visually entertaining to watch: he's got moves, energy - knows how to work a crowd. You don't have to churn out one-liners to be an entertainer.
12 years old and he's more mature than his judge, who is 4 times older... and... isn't LD lucky to have such a cool big brother?
btw.. who is this judging moron anyway? Can he make music himself?
..... Never mind.. just checked on wikipedia
