This probably should be in the thread, "What non-harmonica music are you listening to?"

But-- I wanted everybody to hear this beautiful, bluesy jazzy sax player, Hank Crawford; thus the separate thread. The song, "Don't Cry Baby", originally came out on Crawford's 1962 album, "From the Heart". The version here is from the excellent 80s late night TV Show, "Night Music", with David Sanborn hosting. Sanborn played with Paul Butterfield during his horn band phase.

I love the sound of sax, I love bluesy jazzy sax. I want to learn to play this song one day, on harp. You need a good band behind you to make it sound good, in my humble opinion. If you're playing a slow blues on the harp, you will be paying attention to your tone, like it or not, to make sure the song comes across. I for one think the audience, not just musicians, want that in a slow blues with a horn (harp) up front. The long notes give you plenty of opportunity to shape and caress them.

Here's the song, hope people enjoy it as much as I did and do:

Hank spent some time with Ray Charles and if memeory serves me correct, that's him playing the opening turnaround on his cover of Nappy Brown's "The Night Time Is The Right Time."
